Curd, commonly known as Dahi is a favorite meal companion for Indians. We love to eat curd in whichever form it is served. Be it sweet curd, Chaas, lassi, or however. But this biotic formulation product of milk can be also useful in many other ways, other than just adding up to your daily staple food. Curd has some crazy beauty benefits which are quite visible post application.
Curd acts as a cooling agent, and helps in lowering the body heat.
If you are having a cup curd for your meal ready, do not forget to keep aside some for your skincare and hair care regime.
1. ANTI-TAN REMEDY
If your skin has some severe skin burns, or tanning marks, then a slight application of curd and honey on the burnt area would be quite effective. As we told you, curd has cooling ingredients, which penetrate deep into your skin layers acting as soothing agents.
Curd has uneven particles which are good for scrubbing out the dead skin cells on your skin’s prime layer. A mixture of curd, egg whites and oats creates a natural and homemade scrub for your skin. This scrub won’t be much rash and will in fact have a mild effect while exfoliating.
3. NATURAL CLEANSER
Curd has high anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which are very useful for unblocking clogged pores. Clogged pores cause breakouts and acnes. So using curd as a natural cleanser on your skin can get you a clean, clear and radiant skin tone.
4. CONTROLS SKIN AGEING
These days, women have started experiencing premature skin ageing, due to pollution and unhealthy lifestyle. So if your skin too is stressed due to pollution and other causes, curd is here to your rescue. A mixture of curd and olive oil can control fine lines and wrinkle appearance on your skin.
5. SKIN LIGHTENING AGENT
If you are having a dusky skin tone and wish to make it glow some more, we will suggest you to mix some curd with few tablespoons of orange peel powder and add some drops of lemon juice to it. All these three ingredients will lighten your skin tone by a shade on the first application.
6. CUTICLE WHITENER
If you wish to have a treat of home manicure, do not miss upon curd. Soak your fingertips (covering the cuticle) in sour curd mixed with lemon drops for around 10 minutes. These two ingredients will soften and brighten your nail cuticles making your fingers look fresh and paint-ready.
7. ANTI-DANDRUFF MASK
Dandruff is a common problem for every 4 out 5 people. Though dandruff can be treated with several medicinal and natural remedies, one such strong anti-dandruff natural agent is Curd. Soak some fenugreek (methi) seeds in water overnight. Make a paste of the seeds and curd next day. Apply it over your scalp and hair, letting it dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off for a dandruff free scalp and hair.
8. REMOVES DARK PATCHES
Often some areas of our body like, elbows, knees and backside of the neck are darker than our usual skin tone. Curd is an effective curb for these patchy and dark skin areas. Mix sour curd with turmeric and lemon and apply it over the dark areas for around 20 minutes and then wash it off. Over a period of 1 or 2 weeks, your skin will be much lighter.
The uses of curd for your personal skincare and hair care routine are uncountable. So next time you feel helpless with your skin or hair and wish to stick to some natural ingredient, let curd be your savior. Once you start using curd for the above purposes, you will be marveled at the beauty benefits of the curd.
